Enjoy Life, Enjoy God
BEHALF OF FOLLOWERS
July 9, 2010
Robert Frost's poem, "The Road Less-Travelled," speaks of not going with the crowd, and how that makes all the difference. But Jesus was way ahead of Frost in such respects.

"My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one. They are not of the world, even as I am not of it."
- John 17:15,16 TNIV

Jesus prays to his Father. He prays in behalf of his followers knowing that as people choose to follow Christ, that the world will not be pleased, the world will resist discipleship, the world will fight back. So he prays in behalf of his followers--you and me.
Jesus warns us to be wary of too cozy of a relationship with the world. That's a caution we are fools to ignore; one that I too often underestimate. Yet, take heart, Jesus prays today in our behalf.
Joyfully,
Dale Patterson
