What do you want to be known for? What do people value us for? What is impressive?
Everyone has heard about your obedience, so I rejoice because of you; but I want you to be wise about what is good, and innocent about what is evil.
Romans 16:19 TNIV
Imagine being famous, "everyone hearing about," our obedience! That's a whole different value than our world's--How big is your church? What is our child's SAT score? Tell me about your career. To follow Christ is to invest in a new value system, a new kingdom set, the kingdom of God.
Yet Paul commends people for obedience. How would my day change today, if OBEDIENCE were its object? How would yours?
